Finished another piece I'd been working on. I sketched it out on Procreate, but printed it to color with pencils and outlined with pen. This is Lucinda, my OC #dnd druid/warlock evil character. But she has to hide it. For now.

The more I process my trauma with my therapist, the more I remember, and the more I realize what a monster my mother was... Individually, the stuff doesn't sound like much sometimes, but when you add it all up it's horrible. I hope I'm giving my daughter a better life.

It has been 17 years since I told my mom I was leaving the JW cult she raised me in. I've never looked back, and never regretted my decision. Especially being a mom. It's a horrible environment to raise children, especially diverse ones.

So happy I get to spend my life with this man. I never once questioned marrying him. Our two wedding days (one for family, one to legalize it), were the happiest days for me. I smiled so much.

The older my own daughter gets, the more it dawns on me how much my mother stood in my way to keep me from succeeding at anything. We had a lot of the same interests and skills, and I feel like it was jealousy and not wanting me to get better than her at something. #childhoodtrauma

Today I got to have a singing lesson with an actual singer/songwriter, and she said my singing is amazing. 🫣 I probably blushed so hard. That made my LIFE hearing that from her.
