Probably the most important thing I got wrong is that I made the assumption they were jabbing massive numbers of people into the same PDS and SQlite file. That was hugely mistaken.

Oh yeah. There are many other issues I have with this person's profile for sure. On the specific technical point I made though, even if I suspect we would be diametrically opposed on all else, I was wrong.

It doesn't help that Bluesky's software engineering at scale which made their magical techbro protocol a fine theory that everyone else now has to scramble to reimplement in a way that actually scales.

Take their P D S implementation for example... fucking SQLite backend. Trash at scale.

Right. That makes sense. The problem I thought is that, in practical user distribution, a whole ton of people don't know any of this minutia and just use the most popular PDS which then becomes too large. You would have to have a strategy for sharding that.
