I watched the film again semi-recently and it really hit home for me. The premise feels so timely with how people are acting, especially considering how people's addictions to social media warp their ability to critically think. I highly recommend watching it.

I thought this was such an inventive idea. I wasn't necessarily a homerun, but can't fault a movie for swinging for the fences.

They bulk buy books to push books up the NYT Bestsellers list, no reason to think they wouldn't for movies

I almost killed my wife when I told her I like Nemesis. Then she went onto Tumblr and her and all her trek friends laughed at me

Remember when Remmick told Sammie that Sammie's songs would become Remmick's songs.

At least thats what I got out of the movie.

Irish Americans had become largely indistinguishable from their WASP counterparts.

And I think the Vampirism is a metaphor for that. And the greater point of vampirism struck me as essentially highlighting how whiteness steals from black culture.

Remmick was Irish, and I felt that the there was a parallel made between the oppression black folks faced in the Jim Crow south and that the Irish faced from the British.

When the Irish came over here, they were ostracized too. But over the years, their race allowed them to blend in.
