Tbh tho, each game is its own self contained story, and while there are references to prior entries, you dont need to have played them to enjoy.

Five and Zero are the top of that for me, with Seven being a decent entry and six just below that. Never played 4 or any before. Assault Horizon is hated by fans of the series due to its gameplay shift to a more cinematic and dumbed down on rails focus. The helicopter missions are nice though.
