following Victor's story with the fascination of cheating death and his extremely manipulative nature really showed who was the actual monster.

The tragic story of Frankenstein was really strong a change. the framing of the dynamic between Victor and the monster was so good

No 1 - Frankenstein

I never would have expected to be so enthralled with Frankenstein and i knew that with someone like Guillermo de Toro at the helm it would get a great film.

even if you could see where the original bones of the source material are, everything felt so fresh and amazing.

Superman clashing with the world of politics and the plans from Lex is a little to close to reality now. and even the reflections of Heroes that kill which was interesting to see.

definitely one of the best superhero films in recent times.

4.5/5

I loved the soundtrack being very much in James Gunn's style but very fitting of each character. a Superman who values all life no matter how small, a clever and manipulative lex luthor. and Krypto is well a little ball of chaos and i was absolutely down for it.

No 2 - Superman

A comic book movie with colour (shocker) but to be honest i was so happy after seeing Superman. its really great to see creators proudly show where they are taking their characters from with All Star Superman being a part of the foundation for James Gunn's take on the character.

I think i will have to give it another rewatch as i wasnt exactly thrilled with its overall plot cause it does get stagnant towards the end but the Vampires make up for it with the typical "inviting them in" and i wasn't as unsettled but definitely invested the whole time.

4/5 - can't do it justice

No 3 - Sinners

i will admit this will probably give me some flack, i didnt completely love sinners but by all means it is an absolutely incredible film.

you can't praise this films soundtrack enough coupled with the fantastic visuals really sells this movie.

I can't say its as strong as previous JW films but it does play to its strengths and does play with the conventions of the genre.

the action is as strong as previous films but i felt that Norman Reedus was underutalised. and the village part takes up the main action piece of the film

I'd say 3/5

No 4 - Ballerina

a spin off from the John Wick universe along with a character who should struggle but does grow into a formiable assassin. i couldnt say its as strong as previous films but i do like a new dive into the world with another faction seperate from the high table.

i loved Johnny and Ben in this as their banter is a core part of their character, problem is there isnt enough of it (Especially ben) they remembered Johnny is a scientist and played into that, Galactus looked great and was suitably imposing.

Not really much to say, it was a good return to form

No 5 - Fantastic Four : First Steps

after many years of repetitive MCU, i wouldnt call this groundbreaking but it is a step in the right direction (Ayyyyyyyy)

FF is refreshing in a few ways, 1 - not needing any background watching for it.2 - CGI that looks more believable unlike previous projects

the film builds up the brawl between the two trolls and we barely get any of that in this, in fact the friendly troll gets beaten up for most of it.

i feel most the characters are in the same place as before and is very predictable for character arcs. but there was some cool mythlogy

2.5/5 its ok

No 6 - Troll 2

I really liked the first Troll, really invested in the lore of a creature from myth coming to life in modern times, while not exactly original, it still was a very unique take with some over the top action.

personally Troll 2 is kind of the same film with Monsterverse trappings

the everything else sucks, this film is not scary yet plays almost identical to the conjuring horror playbook. it has probably the worst kills i've ever seen (defo the worst headcrush)

the characters suck and they did the puppet and michael dirty in this film, all to set up a third film

2/5

No 7 - Five Nights at Freddy's 2

god i am a fan of FNAF and i hated this movie, the only real reason this film is higher than JWR is cause this movie made me feel something

the good is the animatronics once again being absolutely amazing and the resturants are well detailed and thats about it
December 30, 2025 at 10:35 PM
the same disappearing dinos, peaceful musical swells to the peaceful dinos, still doing mutated abomination dinosaurs and extremely predictable villains.

while this film did promise a stronger focus on the science of dino similar to the first, it fell woefully short

2/5 is still being generous

No 8. Jurassic World - Rebirth

the first 5 mins of the film told me exactly what i was getting myself in for with a snickers wrapper starting the plot. outside of that it feels that this reboot of a reboot? hasn't gotten any fresh ideas to move the series forward
