If you combine the US's preferential treatment of violent racists as immigrants with its ban on communist immigrants, yeah, of course people aren't coming up to somebody's racist ass and saying "hey, I'm a communist & therefore under US law am committing immigration fraud & I disagree" publicly.

There could also stand to be more acknowledgement of the fact that immigrants to the US can't get any kind of long term/permanent legal status unless they swear they're not a communist or socialist in writing (this can impact things like work visas too). People have been denaturalized over that shit
