I think any reporter or activist using a commercial LLM should probably consider anything they put into it a candidate for being leaked by a hostile tech CEO with the goal of embarrassing them.

I should probably return to it

Yeah I guess that plus several months of early AI Dungeon primed me to think a lot about how the sausage is made

The original piece is pretty clear that there was never an obvious causal connection, just a lot of cultural overlap in the heyday of 4chan
Jeffrey Epstein might not have created /pol/, but he helped carry out its mission
4chan combined things the sex trafficker loved, like white supremacy and misogyny, and he was close to alt-right figures who drew from it to influence the world stage.

I will reiterate one more time I don't think this was the inevitable outcome of generative AI's development, there is an imaginable world where this stuff is creative-driven and augmentative. It's just impossible to miss the current ethos of "put those uppity artists in their place" in tech.

Yeah it hewed toward what I guess I'd call typical Impossible Burger Nontraditional Romance, where it promises something different but loses confidence that readers could actually *want* the difference so the MMC's still gotta be an all-powerful protector who can do a bunch of pushups

Yeah, and I still enjoyed it reasonably well, it's just a drop-off compared to a book I thought was really exceptional in a field that's starved for any variation in dynamics.

Wooing the Witch Queen is the *incredibly* rare romance that doesn't seem preoccupied with constantly pushing Manly Man signifiers onto its MMC to make up for him not being in a position of power over the FMC and I was sort of disappointed that it was apparently a one-off deal.

The email where Epstein offers to help Stephen Elliott take down the Shitty Media Men list was the final straw, screw it, I'm ready to find out anything
