For #tanktuesday here is a picture of a happy man standing next to the banging #besttankofthewar, for some weird reason named Hereford, which is the UK's Bielefeld, A Squadron 8 R.T.R. during or just after Operation CRUSADER.

Black and white picture from The Tank Museum of a Valentine tank and a crewman standing next to it in the western desert in late 1941 or very early 1942. The tank is named Hereford, numbered T27446 and belonged to A Squadron 8 RTR. It carries the white/red/white CRUSADER markings on the forward fender, and the Arms of Service No. 175. The triangle marking for A Squadron would have been red as 8 RTR was the senior regiment in 1st Army Tank Brigade.
