Advocating for better care and eduction around #endometriosis
- Endometriosis is not endometrium.
#endometriosis doesn’t build up bleed & shed with the cycle. Because it’s not endometrium. It responds to the cycle creating inflammation & pain (& via its own estrogen source, hence shutting down ovaries ≠ a fix).

Not new. 2016 Cochrane review: 141 studies, 15,141 participants, evaluated 122 blood biomarkers = none showed clinical use.
This study in itself has flaws.
There’s plenty of money going to research, the research sadly isn’t great.

Q’s for your #endometriosis surgeon:
- Is Endo your primary specialism?
- Do you excise or ablate?
- How many surgeries do you do per year?
- How many complex surgeries do you do per year (incl bowel resection, thoracic etc)
- What are your complication rates?
