I always love to hear ways Friends combine their Quakerism with other beliefs and philosophies. You may be the first Quaker Animist I've come across!

Friends tend to eschew costumes that celebrate violence or represent warriors. Many Quakers also de-emphasize the consumer culture that comes along with it in American society. Still, some Friends feel led to abstain from the holiday. There is not a single Quaker way to celebrate Halloween.

Early Quakers were not keen on holidays. In the modern day many (if not most) Friends in the United States participate in Halloween. They generally see Halloween as a fun, secular holiday to emphasize spending quality time with family, friends, and their community.

Giles Calvert (d. 1663) was a prominent printer in 17th century England known for his association with religious dissenters and radicals. His shop, the Black Spread Eagle, was near near St. Paul's Churchyard in London. His shop was a hotbed of radical and egalitarian thought. (1)

The school is ran by a board of trustees who govern through the Quaker decision making process. It was one of the first schools to offer education to people from all religious and racial backgrounds.
