The walls are closing in on Arteta. It's win or burst next season. It's a shame that the template that was the 22/23 season hasn't been drawn upon to drag the team across the finish line. Despite adding "improvements" in terms of personnel, the quality of football has progressively retrogressed.

Arteta bangs on about fine margins, only to parade a team filled with players who don't even understand what fine margins are. Make it make sense. He is majorly his own enemy. Odegaard has delivered a 3/10 season, yet he stuck with him, even though he had a Nwaneri waiting to be trusted. Fine margin

It is a grand delusion to expect a team with the subpar attacking quality offered by players like Martinelli, Trossard, Jesus, Havertz, and Odegaard to win a big trophy. There is just not enough ruthlessness and dynamism to create the X factor. Arsenal made their bed, so they lay on it that way.

Arteta really thinks his team were the better team over two legs. They beat you home and away, scored 3, while conceding 1, and you have the temerity to display this high level of delusion? It's incredible how he reasons. Excuses and hot takes throughout the season. Sad stuff.

The owners sabotaged the season for the fans. One hairbrained decision after another within the last two transfer windows, coupled with a manager who is still making rookie mistakes with his squad management methods. No one has taken responsibility for how the season has panned out. Excuses instead.

Arteta hasn't won anything significant. I don't want to hear talks of him performing a miracle. His tenure would be quickly forgotten, if another manager comes in and wins a big trophy, when he is gone. Next season is his final chance to make his stewardship a memorable one. His last chance!
May 8, 2025 at 10:15 AM
Arteta's arrogance and the owners lack of big ambitions are the reasons Arsenal will not get over the finish line.
May 8, 2025 at 10:07 AM
This was last season, after getting eliminated by Bayern. But the delusional manager thinks a team that beat his team home and away were not better than his team. Arteta is part of the problem that's held the team back. An honest evaluation of his team would guide him in doing the needful.
May 8, 2025 at 10:05 AM
Statements like that is why his team have come short yet again. In his sixth year at the helms, the same issue that has held his team back is still there, biting harder than ever. His delusions don't help anyone. He and his employers are the only ones who can't see what's obvious. Not good enough!
There are moments when Arteta really doesn’t help himself, like the comments around this CL SF

But his restoration of Arsenal to this level is undeniable, and the reasons for this season’s issues obvious and fixable

It should be considered a criminally sabotaging act, the club's decision not to sign a CF last summer, and then in January. All the work of the last 3 years undone by some hair brained decision by the owners. It is almost like the club has apathy for success. I don't see anything changing soon, btw.

Genuinely believe the tie is done. That was a team on an equal or even better technical level than us, and we struggled to deal most of the time. Arsenal's lack of attacking investment last summer/January was bare for everyone to see, last night. Disappointing!

Odegaard really fell off! Can't be going into next season and having him as a defacto starter, even when his form is rotten. Nwaneri needs to play more in that position. If you are going to continue to start him, then he shouldn't play more than 60-70 minutes or you start him from the bench.

The Arsenal owners, along with the man they employed to manage the team, sabotaged the season for the fans. I hope the fans remember that, at the end of the season, and in the future.

The only thing worse than Arsenal's long term lack of silverware , is Arsenal fans rationalizing the failure.
February 23, 2025 at 11:04 AM
For the past 3 seasons that we started challenging for the title and coming short, it has always been the same cocktail of excuses that we serve up. Excuses are excuses, no matter how valid they may seem. What is clear, however, is that we have not been good enough. And that's a shame!!!
February 23, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Some fans have suggested that the club sabotaged Arteta by not signing him a striker last summer and in January. My question is, what assurances did he seek from the club and were given, that convinced him to sign an extension? He improved us, but he hasn't succeeded. The club too has failed.
February 23, 2025 at 9:36 AM
It is unbelievable, how Arsenal chose to undo all the hard work of the last 3-4 years and some of the accompanying gains by criminally deciding against making any investment in the attacking dept, last summer window, and recently, in the winter window. An unacceptably incompetent way of doing things
February 8, 2025 at 10:12 AM
The shame brought by the failure of coming short yet again, 3 seasons on the trot, isn't Arteta's alone, but Arsenal Football Club's too. The Kroenkes have failed yet again in showing a ruthless ambition to win big trophies. They have dithered when it mattered most.
January 18, 2025 at 9:12 PM
You see that nonsense that Arsenal football club did last summer, when they decided that because Sesko wasn't coming, they'd wait it out till the next summer before getting a CF? It is the greatest bottle job in a long line of bottle jobs that Arsenal have been known to do. Shame on the Kroenkes.

First jpeg in 2025. Good win by the lads last night too.
January 16, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Spent money on additional players in the summer, only to look worse off than last season.
January 4, 2025 at 9:15 PM
We regressed terribly this season. From squad building and management, to team selection and tactics. We have wasted this season. Hard to see if Arteta has what it takes to oversee going one better than last season.
January 4, 2025 at 9:07 PM
After 5 years as Arsenal manager, it is criminal that all of Arsenal's attacking play is still concentrated on the RHS, which has meant that we have become predictable and easy to defend against. How does a manager, who prides himself as meticulous, not see this obvious failing?
December 17, 2024 at 7:05 PM
Arteta needs to be truthful to himself. His obsession with defensive solidity and control is what has shaped Arsenal's recruitment in the last 3 seasons. It is reflected in the quality of forwards he has brought in, since he became manager. Jesus, Trossard, and Havertz are not ceiling raisers. Poor!

Arteta has peaked. It's over!
