Because RDJ was doing Marvel almost solely for 11 years, so he wanted to do something else. Chris Evans was sick of almost a decade's worth of grueling workout schedules and was in a Marvel movie almost every year from 2011 until 2019. Huge paydays but needed to be able to do other stuff, too.

I'm not really interested in whose opinion has more validity, honestly. I just agree that TLJ is worthy of being known for one of best Star Wars whenever that gets brought up. I see people's criticisms and can see where they're coming from, but to me those "issues" aren't issues for me.

I like what I like. I found the ideas brought to the table were much more endearing than much that came before it for a long time in Star Wars.

When I left The Last Jedi in theaters I had no idea there was controversy surrounding it. I watched it and had my Star Wars love reignited in a way that no other Star Wars had been able to for a while. TFA did not do it for me and Rogue One was visually impressive while being OK story-wise.

I totally agree, but the main reason I didn't watch Eternals wasn't because it seemingly was its own thing, the entire movie looks boring as hell. The designs, the characters, nothing seemed all that interesting.

Most of their episodes don't go a whole lot further than "something popped in our heads that we thought was stupidly funny so we rolled with it" which is why I love The Lonely Island. Their Ras Trent ep went into more depth of the concept and was funnier than the actual skit lol.
