Why I'm personally not too hyped about o3-mini in one image.

I know I'm just one PoV here, but this really hurts for most of the real-world applications I can think of...

Best opening level for a 3D Sonic game, but that's a low bar to clear

I think you just articulated a style from Kotaku alumni I love but never consciously clocked.

Strong, clear journalistic or editorial PoV, backed up by a tight explanation that rarely rambles.

Then alt tab from Google AI lab to Anthropic, because Gemini has better memory but Claude just _feels_ better at walking through JavaScript errors...

Anyway, Sapiens.

Perfect gift for that one dude you know who doesn't read books, thinks Sociology and History majors are losers, but hasn't been redpilled quite yet.

They still may get redpilled, but at least they'll have knowledge about Evolutionary Anthropology when they do!

It's fine.

I've already recommended it to a few people I know aren't anthropology nerds or history buffs.

But I worry for the people who'll read this (and only this) and think it's unlocking some higher level world view.

Very little it lays out is novel or insightful, beyond how flatly and matter of fact the author rolls up large complex concepts into an easy to digest "not totally wrong" thread.

Inconsistent sourcing is annoying and he drifts into metaphor and speculation, especially when there's little consensus

So many entitles just flooding the system 24/7 with overlapping claims, names and sites.

My daily horrifying reminder that the internet is broken by spam.
December 19, 2024 at 8:42 PM
Or maybe they just have similar names, or are adding noise to the system to avoid other cons. You can quickly spot cases of people requesting take downs of spam networks, referencing a clearly fake site. Maybe to build validity in detection systems by harvesting made-to-fail botnets?

The individual claiming to speak for the rights holders mentioned in the article may be in Vietnam representing casino site. Or maybe in Canada, sometimes repping local lumber companies...

As someone who had to professionally digest these, you are an agent of chaos

You're not wrong, though
