And the only reason she didn’t win was all the people touting her as a left-wing candidate when that’s not what she was. That scared more conservative people into voting for Trump instead.

Maybe people just want a middle ground to work from instead of fighting between two people that seem to be commanding extremes?

Okay, but by that metric, nobody did. That would be because if a vote is made for a person that doesn’t win, it’s considered a “wasted vote”, since logically speaking otherwise we’d need to have several Primary elections before the entire country could ever agree on a winner.
