Look at the power the lads have, when they want to use it. Look at the causes they choose to use it for. Is it any wonder (points at everything collapsing, or on fire and collapsing).

This is why I say the British press is so much more poisonous than e.g. Fox News. Fox might be wackier and more insulting, but alternatives are available. In Britain, this is everything: all channels, all day, every day of the year. Unrelenting.

You feel like you’re going absolutely fucking nuts, paying close attention to events and to the way they’re covered. But it’s not you, it’s because there are tacitly agreed stories and specific goals, and reality must be forced to bend and break, to fit into these existing structures.

Do we or do we not live in a country where these awful people got their way at almost every major decision point of the century so far? We do! Is it good? No, it is a national calamity. Are they sorry? No they’re not, they’re *absolutely furious* that they haven’t got more and worse.

You cannot satisfy demands made to deal with 'the problems of immigration' because immigration itself does not cause these problems.

They are caused by the same people who retain power in neoliberal society: exploitative bosses, landlords, state elites enforcing austerity, etc etc.
