Agreed as this has been the only use case for crypto. But given the lack of any real value I think the criminal elements are just using it to quickly launder money (ie back into real money) rather than keeping it in crypto.

Time for MSTR to load up on more BTC. 😅

Why can't you put the IV elsewhere? Can't they put it on the lower part of your forearm? I think that's where they put it in me as a kid. Alternatively, could a shunt be put in like for chemo patients? I would have thought they would want it in a non visible location.

And say how Obama disrespected the troops by having a coffee in hand when greeting some troops. He's an absolute hack, who should never appear in public.

My previous employer shut down their site in Shannon. There's a bunch of top notch engineers who I'm sure would love to work for a European company providing cloud services.

They then have to figure out what the heck is going on. I have to imagine this takes at least a few seconds. The Waymo should have stopped before handing off to a tele operator. If a kid runs in front of a Waymo it has to stop autonomously rather than counting on a remote human in the loop.
January 19, 2026 at 3:58 AM
It's not the latency of the connection that matters, as you say it's relatively small. What matters is the human in the loop situational awareness time. The remote ops people are not watching each Waymo in real time. They are connected to a Waymo that has encountered something it can't handle.

At least half the posts on r/IsThisAI are shitposts. Pretty sure this is one of them.

This is the way. Also take away the perks they get their companies to pay for. They want to fly to Paris for the weekend? Tough, they can pay for that themselves. In fact they shouldn't be allowed to write off private jets at all. Fly business class.

My first 15 years as an engineer was in Satcom, first GEO then LEO. Launch costs were always a prime driver in all our design tradeoffs. While SpaceX has dramatically lower launch costs than 20 years ago, they are able to use creative accounting to make StarLink look better.

Agreed, so should we start calling them volcels?

I'd invite Kissenger, so I could spend the entire dinner explaining exactly what's happening.

Amateur photographer here. This shot took me 3 days to get right. It is photoshopped to alter the color of one of the balls (in the original they were all the same). There are only 3 balls (but 2 mirrors). Of course people now think it's AI.

Are we getting hung up on WW2 definitions? During the Boer War the term concentration camps is commonly used. And to the best of my knowledge (limited as it is) they weren't forced to work.

Not to get too in the weeds, but I'm currently reading The Arms of Krupp, and I just finished the chapter where Krupp reps chose the "best" of those arriving at Auschwitz and sent them to work in the steel mills at Essen. They never shipped them back, they just worked them till they died.

It's only a concentration camp when the bad guys do it.

LLMs are a tool akin to a spreadsheet. But they are like a very complicated spreadsheet with a million macros that you can't see. So it could be right or it could be completely full of crap. It's fine if your use case is fantasy football, not if it matters for something important.
