I'm the father of two sons and a Pomeranian. I love all things spooky. My house looks like it's Halloween all year long. I love reading, gaming, and movies.

This morning we went to the clearance sale at Spirit Christmas. I got some fun sweaters for next year at half off, as well as some cool horror ornaments.

One of our Christmas gifts was vegan cheese and accoutrements from Rebel Cheese.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas morning. The kids loved all their gifts.

Merry Christmas Eve to those that celebrate. Hopefully Johnny doesn't get mad at me for posting this photo. He's been working hard at the gym and I'm very proud of him. I may follow his lead in the new year.

I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve. This holiday season has flown by.

I've been collecting Living Dead Dolls for many years. Nosferatu is the most recent addition to my collection.

School is out for the rest of the year, so I let the kids have a gaming day. They seemed to have fun. Meanwhile I have all my shopping done, but nothing is gift wrapped yet.

This morning I finished reading The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune. I really enjoyed this fantasy novel. The characters and story were very entertaining. I've read nine Klune books at this point and enjoyed every one. This isn't his best novel, but it's another worthwhile one for fans. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I took the kids to the Bull Run Festival of Lights and their winter carnival.

The kids and I went to see Zootopia 2. The kids really loved it. I thought it was fine, but not as good as the original.

We decided to have a lazy Saturday at home. We re-watched Zootopia to remind us what happened before we see the sequel tomorrow. The kids and I also played some Fortnite.

I love my new Elvira stocking.

Today was the last day of school. The kids are ready for a break. We might go see a movie this weekend to celebrate.

I can't believe it took me this long, but I finally put out my Christmas bedding.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the year. I still need to get gifts for Carter's teachers.
December 18, 2025 at 10:04 PM
I decided to upgrade my copy of Re-Animator.

Happy Wednesday!

This morning I finished reading The Geek Who Saved Christmas by Annabeth Albert. This holiday romance novel was sweet (and surprisingly spicier than I expected based on the cover). I liked both of the main characters and the cozy vibes of the story. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Today we did some shopping. It was actually kind of an eerie experience because the crowds were significantly less than normal for this time of year. Even our usually super busy Costco had almost no lines. I also did my civic duty and voted in the House of Delegates primary.

My brother got me this adorable Salem sign Christmas ornament. Salem is my happy place. It's also the town I hope to retire in when I'm old(er).

It's freezing outside again, so I'm going to make some spaghetti and vegan meatballs for dinner tonight. I need some comfort food. 🍝

A family member sent me these neat little vinyl records as a Christmas gift. I've never seen ones this small. I'm not sure how you'd even play them.
December 15, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Today was the coldest day here that we've had so far this winter. We decided to just stay home and play video games.

This morning I finished reading Evocation by S.T. Gibson. This is the first book in The Summoner's Circle series. I enjoyed this fantasy novel quite a bit, but it does seem to be more of a setup for future books. I liked the 3 main characters enough that I want to see where the story goes next. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
