Alright so this is a bit nerdy BUT it is a fun science experiment to do with kids and it actually works for your plants.

1 part egg shells
9 parts white vinegar

This creates what's called Calcium Acetate. It's a form of calcium your plants can actually take in💪 #science

FARM UPDATE:
Finally got the old windows changed out. 100% will be reusing them in a cold frame and greenhouse. I'll share the build plans if you want to do it too!

Now I just need the weather to not bite my face off and I can get to doing stuff! ❄️

Here's a good place to start exploring pocket food forest sizes. Not everything has to be massive.

I plan on doing more of these food forestry and gardening at scale videos, A LOT more, with a big focus on growing high calorie foods.
Tell me your general garden size and zone and I'll put stuff together on here as an example 🫶

LONG over due farm update. The garden is cleared, the fence is in. Now its time for planning and design.

I'm thinking about going live in walking through step-by-step how I'm doing it so if you want to learn how to do yours, give me a follow and let me know here.🫶 #gardendesign #Permaculture

I've designed planting strategies for many CSAs, but now I get to do mine, it's so cool to see this come full circle!

I'm DETERMINED, I will feed my community and hopefully help you all to start your farm and do the same. #sustainablelandscapedesigner #garden #regenerativeagriculture #Permaculture

You don't need to grow a ton all at once, instead stagger and plan throughout the seasons.

Before and after of the garden.

I'll be using this space to teach how to do intensive gardening methods using Permaculture approach.

Let me know before what types of plants you want to see guilds for. 😏

Just a quick farm story time. This has truly been a humbling journey and I'm grateful to see where this goes.

Day 4 - Build a Permaculture sector map. THIS map unlocks possibilities more than you know. #permaculture #sustainablelandscapedesigner #gardening #bluesky

Day 3 - Today I'm sharing the farm focus. Progress has already been made and theres still so much work ahead.

I'm determined to feed my community and help others grow what they need.

We're getting there one step at a time. #gardening #Permaculture #sustainablegardendesign

Sun is only one aspect of what you need to map. Don't forget to look at water (like creeks or drainage), rain, wind, snow, wildlife, fires, etc. They all play a role in how you plants thrive.

DAY 2 - Soil Survey is back! Good news 👍 Its mostly silty loam which means amendments are reasonably easy to manage.

Now, onto the microclimates 🙌 (this will be multiple parts as there are lots to examine)

DAY 1 - There are 3 big parts to building this farm. 1- Setting up the infrastructure, 2- Starting the business side, 3- Actually growing stuff.
I'm fully capable of doing all 3. Just gonna take some time, so come with me on this journey.

We're one step closer to finally growing on the farm.🌷✨️

I've been busting ass redesigning our farm model and making great progress!

It's time we change things up!

What are we growing? FOOD (and flowers and herbs but mainly food). Direct to ppl who need it (by $, helping out, and/or barter)

When you see a pink flower this week, that's your sign to ground your energy. Balance is key.

Tomorrow’s new moon in Libra is all about self-love and setting fresh intentions 🌑

So of course… I chose pink ranunculus.

In floriography, they symbolize a deeper connected love, radiant with charm, and new beginnings.

Feels like perfect flower for this moon doesn’t it? ✨🌸

Did you know that spiders sometimes like to hide on the top of apples? 🙃
If you look closely, you can see the legs sticking out. 🕷
Good to know if you're going apple picking.

Did I get out of the car while in line for pickup, run up to a tree that has dangling seeds, grab a handful and take off?
YES And I'd do it again 🤪

Eastern Redbud has moderate growth, great for pollinators and song birds.

Perfect for a pollinator + cut flower garden. Draws in allies🫶

Those Ep files must be massive!

When you control everything, you can't blame anyone else. These websites are intended to be nonpartisan because they're paid for by everyone.

Newly mated queens "hibernate" (enter diapause). Workers, males, and older queens tend to die off.

Had one this morning stuck in my window (likely looking for warmth).

On the off chance it was a new queen, figured we give her a helping hand. #gardening #permaculture

Good news: We have water again!
Bad news: all that sediment kicked up (normal) and will take time to settle.
Other bad news, our softener went out. So... more work to do but hey, progress!!!

I'm rethinking my whole water conservation strategy to my off grid flower farm 💅

I'm legit going to do a water saving / rain barrel video now

Watched the sunrise this morning. Was top tier refreshing 👌. No emails, no calls, all nature. 10/10 recommend to you my friend.

Maybe tomorrow? You in? Share below 👇 I wanna see your sunrise pics!

My hope with my content is to interrupt your scroll to bring a moment of pause, take a breath, and watch the sunset.

It's okay to not feel okay, but just don't sit in that for too long.🫂

Reground yourself, talk a walk, be in nature. At the same time, might as well do a bit of a garden assessment.

Its okay to not feel okay, and it's okay to not have all the answers, but don't stay there long.
