I'm in a bit of a jam and could use some advice. I have a concept of 2 characters for my novel a purfumist and a jeweler. I feel that because my knowledge of these crafts may make them such background characters they might get lost in the story. Any help would be welcome.

Perhaps an odd question for my fellow writers but is there a certain item you need to write/inspire you as you work? I don't mean an actual writing tool but something that just helps put you in the right space. For me it's my clear anatomical heart filled with roses.

So this Saturday im stepping outside my comfort zone in a big way. A coworker recently informed me of an open mic night at our local café and I'll be reading some of my poetry to an audience for the first time. To say im nervous would be an understatement.

So it will be a day early as my birthday is Sunday but I was just informed that tomorrow I will be attending a oddities & haunted antiques market. Personally I live a vulture culture life as I collect skeletal and insect specimens mostly. I'll post pictures of my finds.

Normally I find writers of the past to be the ones that move my pen. The likes of Poe, Shakespeare, & Tolkien. Yet, there a few film makers that have had the same effect. The 2 that come to mind are Guillermo del Toro & Alejandro Jodorowsky. If you know the work you know why.

I'm sure I'm not the only one disgusted by what happened last weekend at sinners & stardust. If you're not already aware of the vile acts that happened please look into them. I always felt bookish events & spaces to be safe, now I'm unsure of that.
