Nicky, Colette, and Paulina were taking a ride in Professor Van Kraken's submarine out in the ocean, when a malfunction causes a crash deep down. Flooding erupts instantly in the small submarine, and catches Colette off guard. Nicky was able to find the professor's scuba set, but it was the only one! Escaping the submarine with one drowned Colette in tow, now Nicky and Paulina must make an emergency ascent while sharing the air supply.

After a certain attack sends the submarine to a tumbling crash within a cave, Engineer Shay was caught off guard sleeping in her quarters when the entire section was submerged from a breach. Shay was able to utilize a breathing mask for awhile, but the submarine was in disarray for too long, passing for hours while the air eventually ran out. With the way the quarters was flooded, she couldn't cling on to anything, let alone tread water due to her soaked heavyset wings weighing her down. She could only last for so long before eventually succumbing to exhaustion, slowly gurgling into the radio hoping someone can get her out...

Working as part of a seafaring salvage crew, Meridia has actually had several instances of where she drowned. One instance was when her ship had began an underwater journey while she was unaware of it and napping. The ship unconventionally floods itself to sink below and travel underwater, utilizing magical wards that are able to maintain some rooms and corridors to still have air for the crew and a dry work environment, though there are only so many wards on board, so the crew tends to swap who gets them occasionally. Meridia doesn't always sleep if she doesn't need to, but after a few days she decided to lie down for once for a bit, unaware that the magical ward in her cabin had been moved elsewhere already. She was way too tired too notice anything amiss or even be aware they were diving, only until her cabin was instantly flooded when the ship dived down. She was abruptly awoken submerged and breathing in water, disoriented and surprised at the predicament. But as she was already inhaling, it was already too late for her as she was left to only struggle and flounder, not even making it out of her cabin to safety. Another crew member would eventually find her and help, but from now on, she chose her sleep schedule very carefully on board that ship...

While traversing the Europan Ridge, the submarine gets ambushed by a Husk Carrier, sending the entire ship into a fierce battle against the carrier and its horde of Husk inhabitants. Husks eventually manage to break through into the submarine as multiple systems and floodings are rampant throughout the still-fighting submarine. In the maintenance section, Lieutenant Commander Danica and Security Officer Bromley were trying to restore ship systems when catastrophic hull damage was taken, leaving them instantly submerged. To make matters worse, a Husk gets through into the corridor, blocking the only way from any emergency supplies or exit. They were left vulnerable, and a single bite from the Husk could mean death. As Danica can barely hold her breath for seconds at a time, she was already audibly panicking and struggling. With the Husk getting closer to discovering them, Bromley quickly does what he thinks is best. He takes Danica into his arms tightly and covers her mouth while squeezing her neck, preventing her from breathing any water and keeping her quiet, hoping that either someone else draws the Husk's attention, or it wanders away enough for him to make a break for his weapon. Yet, trying to fight would mean letting go of Danica, who was already desperately trying to breathe and struggle in his grasp. Bromley would need to make a decision, or be forced into an unfavorable position...

Marina and Kassie had been tasked with manning a submarine pod and traversing through a cave system that their main submarine could not fit through, seeking a cluster of minerals to relay to their mining team to return and collect. With Marina piloting and Kassie on the main weapon, it was smooth sailing, until they happened to pass through and disturb a massive cluster of Pelagophyta Actinomorpha, a Europan plant that looks and acts like sea anemone as a defense trait. When at risk or bothered, the plant will coil and tighten around any attacker, eventually loosening up since unlike a sea anemone there aren't any stingers, but enough of a grasp to ward off any would-be threat. Disturbing the cluster, the submarine pod was instantly pulled in roughly and took massive damage, enough to have to force the pair to signal their emergency beacon and bail before the panes broke and the pod was instantly flooded. The pair brandished emergency gear and tried to make a swim for it, but the cluster still deemed them a threat, and rightfully so as Kathy blasted it as much as she could before getting overwhelmed. Within their grasp and their gear pulled or broken away, the cluster would entangle and trap them in its grasp, and for too long that either of them could last. Hopefully a rescue party had already been dispatched...

When she was suddenly yanked down and had her flippers taken in a moment, she turned to see what had did it, only to see nothing there. She was then yanked again to the side, having her weapon tugged free, and still seeing nothing afterward. It was then that she was struck fully, being taken from behind and having her diving mask and mouthpiece ripped off, instantly disorienting her. All she could do now was struggle against the attacker. Being naturally in his element, Crock thought that this guard duty was just all too easy...

It was just supposed to be an exploratory voyage on the planet of Kaflon Gamma IV for Captain Daphne and a voyager group of her crew. Yet, when a Challenge Door appeared before them, curiosity and the thrill of possible rewards seemed to get the better of them all. Stepping through, they were all whisked away to an unknown destination. Yet, what awaited them wasn't a lava obstacle course, a gauntlet of turrets, or even dangerous creatures. Instead, they found themselves in a space filled with nothing but smooth-tiled walls and floors, and a deep pool of water that went downward. Exhausting every possible way to go, the group figured that the way out and through was into the water. One by one, members of the exploratory party descended down, saying that they will be the one to find the exit and lead the captain and others back. Once underwater though, their communication devices no longer seemed to function, leaving no way of updating their status or where to go for the rest. Hours passed between each volunteer, as each of them knew that their oxygen rebreathers could only last so long, eventually figuring that those before them failed, and so the next went. To make matters worse, they discovered that the water levels were actually slowly rising, and would soon overtake the entire space. Eventually it was down to only Captain Daphne and Margo. With Margo not being an adequate swimmer, Daphne pledged herself next to descend down, and hopefully succeed where everyone else had seemed to fail so far. Margo would be left behind for now, as the water continued to rise, and time would soon determine whether Daphne made it...

Marlowe the Kobold had overheard a pirate planning a heist on a local governor's mansion, but was still needing some information, and help to do so. Seeing an opportunity, Marlowe piped in saying that she knew of a way directly to within the mansion's grounds without being seen, and all it took was a little "shortcut" dive through an submerged underground cave that she knew of. Ignorantly the pirate believed her and wanted to see the way himself, and Marlowe could only happily agree to show him. Reaching the entrance, she mentions that it is a bit of a swim, but that they can make it. She pretends to hold her breath and plunges in, the pirate following after her. As Marlowe leads him deeper and deeper into the cave, she giggles to herself mentally knowing that she'll upkeep her pact today...

Before eventually enlisting with the Coalition, she first joined with whoever would hire her and provide some decent pay. Yet for the greenhorn mechanic, sometimes the proper crew wasn't always outfitted for the tasks they undertake. Here, she of all people was chosen to be the point lead in scanning an ancient alien ruin. Sinktember 2025 Day 6 - Retrieve #sinktember #Sinktember2025 #drowning

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...Lop the Lepi had been captured by a group of Trandoshan bandits on the oceanic world of Castilon. The bandits were seeking a rare mineral deep within the submerged caves of a coastal cliff, yet they had no droids or proper equipment to get it themselves. What they did have though, were plenty of captives to use, both to accomplish their goal, and serve as entertainment for betting on who could actually do it. They parked their ship above the caves and looked at their choices. An unfortunate Nelvaanian was chosen first to go, strapped to a luminated dive line on a locked shackle, and forced by threats to dive into the caves. The line would ensure she couldn't escape, and would serve to show her progress in distance. As the Nelvaanian could only comply, she dived in. The Trandoshans watched as the line travelled further and further, until minutes later when it no longer moved, and didn't move again for some time. Credits, curses, and cheers were exchanged all around by the bandits, as the first "volunteer" had failed. Yet, they had plenty to spare, as Lop was strapped to a new line next, and held at blaster point to dive in and pick up where the other left off. Taking a deep breath, the Lepi would need to trust her instincts and find a way out of this somehow. For now, she leaped in and swam following the line. It was quite a distance within the caves by the time she made it to where the Nelvaanian was, and ultimately discovering that she had indeed drowned. With Lop's own breath-hold starting to waver, she would either need to retrieve the minerals, or escape. Either way, time was running out for her...
