If Curry and Koonin are to be believed, their report will respond to and revise based on the post-publication review

All of this is political, including the NCA (always has been) and increasingly, the IPCC (WG2 for a while, looks like now WG1 for AR7)

That said, the CWG report is certainly getting a degree of review far more intensive than any journal paper
