That one fly kick before the breaststroke kick and pull before surfacing takes practice to coordinate and feel right. I like it but amusingly got confused in the last meet.
Focused too much on the fly kick. Couldn’t remember if I did other parts. Split decision floated to surface. Lost time!

I don’t like breaststroke to begin with but by “new” what do you mean? The version where your forehead can go below the water? Used to be DQ in the 70s.
This version has been the case for a long time. We can also take one fly kick underwater now before kick and stroke. I like that new a lot.
