I think about stuff too hard, and I'm always disappointed.
This jeans thing is the kind of culture war shit that loses the Democrats elections. When will they learn?
Don't turn things that aren't a whole thing into a whole thing.

If Elon really goes through with bringing back Vine, I may forgive him for everything else.

I don't understand any ethical reason to wind down FEMA. Certainly more hands during a crisis can be nothing but helpful. How is FEMA hurting or failing anything? Is the reason just to save money? If so, at what cost?

Does Elon "regret" his tweets about Trump because he's truly sorry and wants to reconcile, or because they cast him as a willing pedophile endorser? 🤔

Isn't it great how TikTok is technically illegal but nobody gives a shit?
I feel like that is a low-stakes representation of everything going on with the US politically.
We've become an institutional joke.

Is NPR left leaning? Yes. But journalism typically is (good journalism anyway), because it challenges thought. Conservative thought is protective.

Also, if the right gets more rightward, even a little bit left looks a whole lot more left in comparison.

Republicans are not the party of "small government". They are the party of "differently big government". They are the party of "conveniently big government".

Trump says he would end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza. Well both of his ceasefire deals failed and now India and Pakistan are starting a war.

Trump's War Score is -1

This is basically how I feel daily. Trump is making us great again? Well we were already the greatest country in the world. Or do MAGA-ites not believe that?

I must say, the post for Star Wars day from the Official White House account is the stupidest thing I have seen in my entire life. My childhood is ruined. My everything is ruined.

I don't know what has gotten into American politics when we are celebrating the loss of livelihood for hundreds of thousands of American citizens..

From WP:

If 2 million federal employees each spend 15 minutes answering the emails, at an average hourly wage of $35, that will equate to 500,000 hours and $17.5 million going toward responding to the messages each week.

DOGE'S methodology is stupid as hell

Making English our national language wont change much because it already effectively is. This isn't about national unity, it is about making immigration more burdensome.
Maybe that is acceptable or maybe not, but what do we do about our legitimate citizens who don't speak the language?

Come here and disrespect us? It's not our guests'
job to cater to us. We are supposed to host and cater to our guests. It's a major part of being a head of state. There is no decorum or leadership there.

Part 3 of my feelings. While they may have been right to disagree with zelensky Trump and vance sure ACTED like an asshole. As the stronger, bigger, more powerful country by a long shot, to a country literally in pain, that does not sit right with me.

Caveat to my last statement. Zel was wrong but I still don't think Trump is of the hook. If he really wanted peace, he could've prioritized it over our slight disadvantage. With America First though, we are at least partially and tacitly responsible for the wars prolongment.

I agree with TRUMP on Ukraine. Man, cognitive dissonance does not feel good.

Here is a reminder on how crucial government data is. Our economy relies on infrastructure, one of government's primary roles is to facilitate infrastructure, and data is a form of infrastructure.

This is truly an unprecedented age. We have the richest man in the world acting as a global hegemon. If this isn't truly late-stage capitalism, I dunno what is.

Look, you just can't have a prominent government figure openly and repeatedly use a word that offends a significant chunk of the population. It doesn't matter if you think the offense is warranted. That's a private take. Government represents everyone. Step up.

Just a reminder that the GOP is a cult. Why don't we wait and see how everything shakes out before giving Trump the same status as Washington and Lincoln, and literally no other president since.

I really don't know why we care how Europe handles free speech. They have a different social contract. They have a different (bad) history. But they are all democratic so this issue is between their governments and their people.
