I feel blessed to have grown up in SF at that time, but, yes there are always some dark times. I remember almost getting busted for weed at Fillmore west one night and watched Bill Graham drag my buddy out for bringing in a cassette recorder. Mostly good times though.

We lived a a half block from Golden Gate Park at the time and the polo fields and speedway meadows were just a short walk away. The carousel/Fillmore west were an easy streetcar ride away and we went often.
