Pretty sure those firms are renting the homes they own. A vacancy tax is a way to encourage more supply. Another way is to build more homes. France, Spain, Italy, all are more liberal at allowing new homes than LA. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ugh, gross. Setting aside the bullshit of US healthcare, the support folks should be required to be in the USA (ours are!)

Yeah that’s not how we roll. We don’t even do actual hospital operations, we provide software for their workers to do their job better.

Sorry about your experience, that fuckin’ sucks.

Sadly, it doesn’t do much. Vancouver’s a vacancy tax & it applies to ~1% of homes, hasn’t moved the needle on affordability there.

Mostly, we need a shitload more homes everywhere.

One of Athena’s mottos is “let doctors be doctors”, mostly around how insurance claims suck & we try to unfuck them as best as possible.

I sleep pretty well knowing that’s a thing we do, and do well.

He went to my dad’s alma mater, Villanova, and 100% I think he would!

Hospitals in the US are almost all private already, so their scheduling & billing can’t be privatized, though they can be outsourced (I work for athenahealth, which does scheduling, billing, claims, & EHR software, so I’m quite familiar).

We tend to get high marks from healthcare workers though 🤷🏻‍♂️

😆 projection much? You replied to me, sweetheart.

Said another way: you _are_ responsible for what I understand. That’s called effective communication.

If I don’t understand you, you did a shit job at what you meant to say. Especially when it’s a non sequitur. If you meant to link global finance to healthcare, ok? Still irrelevant to US hospitals.

Being insulting is shitty, quit it.

Also, AU is a _very_ different place from the USA in terms of healthcare, seeing as it has universal public healthcare, unlike us.

As for your image, if you wanna be understood, do better, don’t be a dick.

Bwahaha that is some extremely good shit
November 29, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Do my own research about what? You replied to me with a non sequitur, talking about an entirely different topic.

What, exactly, am I meant to take away from you talking about AU hospitals when the topic at hand was US hospitals?
November 29, 2025 at 11:32 PM
While I appreciate your pointing out US-owned AU private hospitals being bad at doing healthcare, that doesn’t seem relevant to who owns, and what corporate structure, apply to US hospitals.
