It had a positive reception while not taking away from other films like Home Alone 2 and Aladdin that were in theaters at the same time and was dedicated to Jim Henson and Richard Hunt. It's a wonderful take on the story so do you like this movie?

It was huge having 45% of tv viewers tuning in that evening which was estimated to over 15 million tv sets and the success won them an Emmy while also paving the way for future specials.

If you want to catch it on TV it will air on NBC December 9th at 8pm, it's a favorite of mine especially since Jimmy Durante's in it which this happens to be his final film role
