Most of the bullying has moved online where teachers are powerless to stop it. To be fair a bit of push and shove is healthy but there have to be boundaries. No coming back from suicide and these are the ones that can be great later on.

Nothing to with Murdoch and too early to tell. Worth a try. Also YouTube allowed but no sign in so all good. About time these massive Social media companies are handled, and they stop destroying young lives.

I doubt it. Suicide is a real issue and nothing worse than that. However YouTube is def educational and not really social media so I expect that to change. The rest of social media is a money making waste of time which enables cyber bullying.

Actually costs nothing or minimal to implement. And the proof is in the numbers- save one kid and the policy is a winner. Platforms will not moderate their sites willingly- they only care about money not lives.

What is the upside of a dead young person? Deaths from cyber bullying are preventable with this policy. Social media has no benefit to adolescents. Arguing like this is disrespectful to this who have died. The evidence is there. Fortunately those in charge care more than you do.

Also, DV is a massive problem. More of an us problem than a govt problem to solve. And with gambling, not sure what is happening there. Many have tried to fix this like Julia Gillard and failed.

Apples and oranges and what aboutism. I am not disagreeing on gambling, however with social media, this policy is a winner and Australia is the first in the world to try this. Every parent who has lost a child to social media bullying will be cheering Albo on. We need to get behind him on this.

It is about saving lives. So many teenagers suicide due to Social media. Teenagers do not learn anything on social media, that comes from Wikipedia, YouTube and books. This is a wining policy. Hard to police but each life saved is worth it.
