At long last, I have reopened to queries!

I continue to champion queer stories for all ages in fiction and non-fiction. I have no plans to stop.

I am primarily looking for author/illustrators in the PB space.

And I still love SPACE. Bring me an astronaut.

This past Sunday I was a speaker at the LA County Library Next Chapter Writers Summit and it was such a well-run event.

In addition to speaking on a panel, I spent the afternoon in one-on-ones with writers and they were all so prepared and talented.

In fact, I just offered rep to one today!

My amazing illustrator client @sonyaafnan.bsky.social just sent me this piece she drew of me as an astronaut. I’m obsessed! I’ve fully embraced my inner space nerd. Still manifesting representing an astronaut’s book someday!

If you aren’t following Sonya, start!

Things I never expected to get in my mailbox: A Happy Birthday note from an Apollo astronaut who walked on the moon.

Thank you, Charlie Duke!
Cover of Charlie Duke memoir MOON WALKER featuring a photo of an astronaut on the moon and the earth rise.

MOON WALKER
The true story of an astronaut who found that the moon wasn't high enough to satisfy his desire for success.
Signed note that reads:

Jordan, Happy Birthday! Always dream big! Charlie Duke

So no clue how this happened, but Apollo 16 Commander Charlie Duke sent me a copy of his book to my home address wishing me a Happy Birthday. As a huge NASA and Apollo nerd, this is very cool.

But also… HOW????

Quirk authors, if you’re finding out about this news on social media and are feeling distressed about where this leaves you, I wouldn’t hesitate to email Dave since it sounds like he‘s the only person he saved in the sale of the company.

Kirkus Reviews writes "The author explores the complexity of anger—honoring its validity without dismissing accountability for one’s actions—in a way that’s artful and immersive. Deeply cathartic; balances emotional depth with engrossing suspense."

Happy 75th Anniversary to Charlie Brown! I spent the summer playing Linus at a local community theater and got back into reading old Peanuts comics. They've brought so many smiles to my face.

Quick reminder: I only consider queries through QueryManager unless it is a referral from someone I actually know. I've gotten a lot of queries* to my email recently and those are deleted. *Many also CC TONS of agents.

Following guidelines is the first step to a strong author/agent relationship.

I am very behind on my queries and requested material reading, so I'm going to close to queries at the end of the week for a short time until I'm caught up. Feel free to query in the meantime.

fyi, ZOMBIE & BRAIN is a great publishing case study. this book was MASSIVELY promoted to independent booksellers before its release. the publisher brought it to conferences! they sent us physical f&gs! they emailed us about it! indie booksellers are how new authors break out and this is proof. 🧟🧠

... we surpassed Stephen King on the NYT bestseller list?

My gob has been well and truly smacked.

THIS BOOK DIED ON SUBMISSION!

I'm so overwhelmingly grateful for all the love. Team Zomsbury is THE BEST.

Still looking for great space non-fiction for all ages, but particularly middle grade. NASA history is one of my adult obsessions and with Artemis launching next year, I want to inspire the next gen of astronauts and flight controllers. #mswl

I’ve spent the last five days celebrating turning 40 by indulging in my nerdy obsessions and the final cherry on top was seeing this launch. Welcome to 40. Bring it on!
