This past Sunday I was a speaker at the LA County Library Next Chapter Writers Summit and it was such a well-run event.

In addition to speaking on a panel, I spent the afternoon in one-on-ones with writers and they were all so prepared and talented.

In fact, I just offered rep to one today!

My amazing illustrator client @sonyaafnan.bsky.social just sent me this piece she drew of me as an astronaut. I’m obsessed! I’ve fully embraced my inner space nerd. Still manifesting representing an astronaut’s book someday!

So no clue how this happened, but Apollo 16 Commander Charlie Duke sent me a copy of his book to my home address wishing me a Happy Birthday. As a huge NASA and Apollo nerd, this is very cool.

fyi, ZOMBIE & BRAIN is a great publishing case study. this book was MASSIVELY promoted to independent booksellers before its release. the publisher brought it to conferences! they sent us physical f&gs! they emailed us about it! indie booksellers are how new authors break out and this is proof. 🧟🧠
