... unless it's something I agree with and stand behind, in which case, yes, I did that."

Seriously, I'm fortunate.

Yesterday, the readings I assigned my students were either not aligned to the syllabus or no longer functional. I beat myself up a bit for it, but the class still went well!

These are the moments where I'm glad I built a community within my class so when I need the grace, I can receive it.

Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.
Tweet from the VP:
Joy Reid has had such a good life in this country. It's been
overwhelmingly kind and gracious to her. She is far wealthier than most.
Yet she oozes with contempt.
My honest, non-trolling advice to Joy Reid is that you'd be a much
happier person if you showed a little gratitude

PS - I hate the term “illegal” in reference to people, and that’s part of this story too.
thejosevilson.com
Instead of people saying “illegal immigrants can’t get healthcare and that’s against the law,” I wish more people said “health care is a human right and we need to invest in systems that make sure everyone gets what they need.”

And that’s my story.

And the real tea is, a lot of the kids that get into gifted and talented programs aren’t necessarily academically advanced, just have parents who are well connected.

not going to pretend I am an expert on the studies, some conflicting somewhat, on gifted programs in schools but one beef I have with those types of programs is they often prioritize the kind of gifted kids who end up being the dumbest mother fuckers in the country, like people who go to Yale law

It’s always about who’s doing the speaking that determines whether or not it’s English with some folks.

Like the Epstein files, we didn’t need Trump to say he was implementing Project 2025.

We just needed to listen to the women, who called it out first.

Is this the first time I ever got quoted from another social media site on here?

If so, this is great.

And yes, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is talking and my former students are listening.

Will you?

Response I got on Threads.

This person is correct.

We must have candidates that actually listen, and present a credible & authentic plan that meaningfully improves their lives.

This is _so_ important - and must be internalized by all Dems if we hope to win power back.

Multiple violations of the Hatch Act happened in Trump 1.0 and, because he wasn't held accountable there, his administration kept pushing the line. The line wasn't reset, mainly because people did a terrible job of explaining why it mattered.

Trump 2.0 goes in with this knowledge and keeps pushing.

I’ve been humming the theme song since I learned of this news.

There have been two hosts in the history of Reading Rainbow. The Legend of Literacy, LeVar Burton! And... me, Mychal Threets, a librarian 🥹🤯

I am a reader, a librarian because LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow made us believe and see we belong in books, we belong everywhere ✨

Smiling Mychal with hands raised wears an outer space shirt in a library. It is a still from an episode of Reading Rainbow. LeVar Burton smiles with hands behind his head as he lies down on a colorful pile of books. ENEMY PIE book rests on his chest.

This is where New York stereotypes come in handy like, "When's the last time you walked around a Rangers game?"

Hey @governor.ny.gov, what's our plan?
govpritzker.illinois.gov
People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out – record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening – and that we won’t stand for it.

For what he's most likely to play, maybe start with Un Verano Sin Ti. You can play that one from top to bottom as (imo) it has no skips. Take about a few minutes, maybe even an hour, for break.

Then play DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

But from there, X 100pre and YHLQMDLG. He doesn't play Nadie Sabe ...

Bad Bunny's transformation from Chambea! to La MuDANZA ought to be studied. What a discography.

Having said that, I'll be cracking up if he plays La Romana. Countdown to these folks getting their closed captions together.
