There is on reason not to ramp up the pressure on defense. Stonehill's lead ball handler (Sunderland) had three first half turnovers and has a 36.0% turnover rate on the season.

The Orange gave up a basket on that opening Stonehill possession, but Autry has them pressing from the jump to force energy on to the floor and avoid the "one foot out the door" play due to the upcoming holiday break.

The Orange held on to defeat Northeastern yesterday and there were some interesting numbers to come out of it. The shooting down the stretch at the foul line was good, but so was the shooting inside another line. Our @dsafetyguy.bsky.social explains...

Just disappointing that the Orange cannot put away teams that they should. Northeastern has runs of 10-2 and 7-0 since the midpoint of the second half.

After SU went to the press, they shot 9-of-11 from the field with only one 3-pointer and had all 14 of their free throw attempts.

The Orange shot 11-of-18 from inside the arc and earned a lot of their 14 free throws in there, too. Seems like that, combined with the pressure on defense to keep the energy up, is the path in the second half.

Going to the press out of the time out has helped lift the energy for the Orange. They need to sustain it with these reserves coming in.
