I really feel like this has contributed to a lot of his mental health issues. I feel like if he knew he had more support besides me he’d be more confident in himself but I’m just assuming from a parent’ perspective so this may not be true.

As a parent, I have never felt comfortable getting praised for how ”good” of a parent I am bc that’s really not what any of this is about. My son needed a village as the saying goes. And he never really got it. 💔

Also I do understand that maintaining friendships is difficult bc we're all being crushed by the weight of capitalism which is affecting our mental health which can contribute to idea of low effort friendships. But maybe attempting to put more effort in them will give us some relief from it all.

People constantly talk about how people being busy as an excuse to not put more effort in friendships and idk I guess as someone who is constantly deprived of interdependent connections I don't feel like that's a valid excuse.
