America survives off of imperial war and this is evidence of that. Since WWII American capitalism has been propped up entirely by war which ensures constant state spending while increasing international control by showing that the US will put a gun to your head if your country doesn't comply.

They merely want to be prepared to take Taiwan in case the US aggresses on them like they’ve been doing for the past decade.

Meanwhile US invasion of Venezuela is imminent which makes the timing of this propaganda piece even more disgusting.

There’s no world where the US is not matching China in military power considering it controls almost every East Asian country’s foreign policy. China isn’t stupid, they’re not going to take Taiwan unless the capitalist West is in flames with a recession or collapsing.

Of course, in any other scenario the Times would be perfectly critical managing opposition to Trump, but as soon as its about our murderous foreign policy, they uncritically do their job as the lap dog state media.

Typically rags like the Times have their dedicated war monger goon like Bret Stephens but this time the entire editorial board is in on it. This is journalistic malpractice. There's literally no critical sentence in this piece about the Pentagons completely unfounded claims.

Thus they say that the US needs to double and triple down on military spending and ‘work with allies rather than slapping them with tariffs.’ Typical liberal imperialist talking point.

Talarico talks like he’s anti-establishment but seems extremely astroturfed. His campaign looks more like they’re checking boxes than actually putting forth a genuine vision.

Again, the people deserve a revolutionary socialist movement, not this lesser evil nonsense.

I think the left, is far too distracted with identities, labeling, purity testing, and finger pointing. Materially, the reason reformism doesn’t work has nothing to do with individuals; it has to do with the structure that makes it impossible without revolution.
