We do offer the Bikeability programme in the Forest of Dean, which is very hilly. I haven't taught there. It would be interesting to see how they manage it. The kids are in year 5 or 6, so aged 8-10.

I grew up in London in the 1970s and 1980s. I didn't ride to school, but I went everywhere else on my bike. My bike was my freedom, my independence.

I never cycled to school, it just wasn't offered, but I would get my bike out and ride to the shops or the park in my free time. When I got home I'd clean the bike with rags and oil the chain.

I love your passion for this. It's clearly one of those things that make you come alive.

Ok, it is fairly spooky. To my (now C21st) ears, though, a lot of the fear is lost in the lengthy discourse. I may need to read a plot summary to really understand this one.

E.g. "We tax things to discourage them, so why tax people on their efforts to make an income?" This is utter nonsense. We tax some things to discourage them, but the principle of tax is we pay into the commons for the common good. Tax isn't a punishment. It is essential to being part of the whole.

Ok, but from a consumer perspective what am I looking for? A lot of products say "sustainable palm oil" but don't carry a logo. It would be good to see a clear explanation of the issues around PO with up to date data, even if it is somewhat complex.

Is the Round Table functioning? I've been hearing mixed reports.

Summary: I went to work as a nanny, a strange man looked at me from atop a tower, the same man looked at me through a window.

3.5 hours still to go.

One way to frame history is through the lens of humans' two, opposing, desires: the desire for community and the desire for individual self-expression.

Brilliant ad, clear and concise, using imagery we can all get immediately.

Monopoly was invented by a couple who wanted to show how unfettered market capitalism will always deliver only one winner out of a whole human community. The reason we have any market regulation is that we used to have none.

Factory farming is grotesque. It's also the logical outcome of an economic model that does not allow for the concept of enough.

A lot of people in government like dressing the windows. That way they get to be seen without having to do anything that would be really difficult.

It's a bizarre relic that has nothing to do with controlling fox populations and everything to do with outdated ideas about class and privilege.

When the owner of Iceland (the retail chain, silly!) Decided to stop having palm oil in their own brand products, the Indonesian govt set spies on the family and asked the GB Gov to instruct them to reverse the policy.

We've developed a habit of gathering in the porch to see the kids off to school. Hugs all round and "Have a good day." Today it included, "Hope the test goes well, do your best." I love how confident they look as they walk away.

Let's create different trends.

16 should see them going away on their bikes with friends for a camping weekend without adults, ending in a homecoming party thrown by the families. 3/3 www.hive.co.uk/Product/Jona...
