Genuinely, you do not need to play Titanfall 1 to understand Titanfall 2's story. Titanfall 1 just barely sets up the factions at play and there is... a droplet of a story there, only accessible through multiplayer. You're seriously better off just focusing on Titanfall 2 in almost every aspect lol
