I have tried both methods. I can say from experience. Bring list can be shared within household, works very efficiently if you do shopping together with wife/husband. Saves time in store if one goes for milk while other for bread to different aisle.

It looks scarier in the picture. In real life you are superfocused on the task to climb up/down and you dont think about falling down. At least I was not looking much down. But the danger is real.
