So fun thing I learned - vinyl toy maker KidRobot did a line of figures in 2011 called 'All City Breakers' with the idea of "What if the classic bucket of soldiers was actually 80s breakdancers?"

That their nerd store presence was hard replaced by Funko was a disaster on so many levels.

Back in 2020 I pushed myself to learn to draw so I could do my own tokens for my first streamed TTRPG campaign. I still don't think I'm a *great* illustrator, but looking at some of those pieces again (compared to what I've done in the last year), I've come a long way.
A simple pen and ink drawing of my OC, Cirrus Mucha, drawn in 2020. She's a detective with a billowing white afro, wearing a shirt and tie with a trenchcoat. A crop of a digitally inked illustration of Cirrus, done in 2024. Being in colour and rendered digitally understandably makes the piece more polished, but there's more ambition to the pose, styling of hair and outfit.

One of the things I love about GenCon is the miniature painting competition!

They take the time judge and give feedback on EVERY submission, regardless of skill level. And this year, I even managed to earn a Silver award!

I'll definitely be cooking to submit something even better next time.
