One of the only main-line examples I can think of is Dante, because Dante does their duty, they do their job, but they also are so tired of doing it and just want to die. Plus, whether their indoctrination didn't work/is wearing off/their exposure xenos is taking it's toll, they're empathetic.

The DrakeNier omniverse seems to have a complex relationship with this.
