Hm, that's only supported on Wayland. I wonder if they were using X11 instead for some reason.

I've had frequent issues with HiDPI monitors as well, even when I set the scaling factor equally

At the local white people grocer, tofu is 2.50usd/lb and eggs are 8usd/dozen. Tofu is probably even cheaper if you go to one of the Asian grocers around here.

I don't think I've actually tried a tofu scramble before. I wonder what the best way to make it is.

Every startup I've worked at has ran out of money and failed. I don't think that's quite what you're looking for though.

Don't forget to tell them to leave that discord server they've had muted for 6 years that they keep around "just in case I get interested in XYZ again".

Or they are trying to use arch linux on a laptop with both an iGPU and a dGPU and RealTek wifi.

Lambda calculus with De Brujin indexing is my personal favorite.

The Calculus of Constructions is another personal favorite. However, it is slightly more limited than turing machines; all programs terminate. It is still powerful enough to model almost any computation you can think of.

Optimus Prime is the technology Windows and Linux use to support having both in a computer if the dGPU is nvidia. It is one of the pieces of Linux I have banged my head about the most. I hate it so much. I have melted multiple motherboards by misconfiguring it and the dGPU overheating.

Btw, this might not work if you have both an integrated GPU and a discrete GPU. (Same on Windows funnily enough)

At this point, I think it is worthwhile to flee the country. Especially if you put the tomato in a lettuce, guac, bacon sandwich. Alternatively, prepare to fight if you can. Regardless, get and keep a passport.

It's really hard to get out of the US permanently without family or money tho :(

There are multiple Bahn Mi places in walking distance where I live (it's a very Vietnamese neighborhood). They're definitely one of my favorite foods.

There was one place that would panini-press their Banhs. They were my favorite til they went out of business ;-;

The Socialist Rifle Association is a thing for a reason :3.

Guns escalate violence, but if conflicts are already being escalated might as well be armed responsibly if you are willing to take the risk.

To be armed or not to be feels like a case of the prisoner's dilemma.

None of that boot-repair crap is needed.
February 16, 2025 at 11:41 PM
Yep, I love that stability :3. Once you get it working it keeps working. I use it with both Arch Linux and NixOS without issues.

Congratz and I wish you the best :3

Going back to grad school is one of my dreams.

I personally prefer systemd-boot. Only problem is that it is uefi only. Also it's systemd, but I'm a systemd fangirl.

I think grub is the default for most distros because it is the most configurable and offers the widest compatibility.

To be clear, this isn't a defense of Google. I'm just pointing out that this Safetycore app is a red herring. Other Google apps, especially the play store, already grant Google full control of your device to read and install anything.
February 16, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Btw, this Safetycore app doesn't allow Google to spy on you at all. Also, it can only scan messages and images in the Messages app. Source: bsky.app/profile/grap... . For context, GrapheneOS is a group of security experts that make an android system without Google.
It provides on-device machine learning models usable by applications to classify content as being spam, scams, malware, etc. This allows apps to check content locally without sharing it with a service and mark it with warnings for users.

I've been having the same issue too. I tried turning on this setting to fix it.

I'd swear I'm the only non-depressed trans person I know. Still got the anxiety tho.

It does not have to go through all the pics on your phone. It doesn't even have permissions to look at any files on your phone. Read the thread I linked if you want an explanation for how it works
