Apple dictation, I promise I’m always referring to the mode of transportation, not the sandwich restaurant. please never ever ever capitalize the S in Subway.

honestly AI is great but I wish that Apple could develop a feature that would detect when I only have one earbud in and switch the audio to mono

writing pet peeve: saying that you “self-x’d yourself” is redundant—if you taught yourself violin, you self-taught. saying both is unnecessary. in today’s Athletic

small MTA annoyance: I used to be able to swipe my Metrocard and go thru the turnstile without breaking stride. OMNY takes just a fraction of a second longer but it totally messes up the rhythm of my steps

But Sean. It makes me feel icky talking about sexy fun and kinks with my daughters. I don’t like doing that so this shouldn’t exist.

A lot of the criticism here smells like "what will my 12-year-old niece think about this" and, like, whether or not the album cover is harmful/misogynistic, it is not Sabrina Carpenter's responsibility to make art that's anodyne enough to be palatable and unharmful to 12-year-olds.
🚨 Sabrina Carpenter announces new album ‘Man’s Best Friend.’ Out August 29th.

google's AI is literally 100 years out of date (and unhelpful for studying for the NYC Sightseer's Guide test)

the last time MSG was at Madison Square Park was literally in 1925

i used to teach my CS students that computers are "smart in a dumb way" -- i.e. powerful, but extremely literal. if you tell it to do something, even if it's questionable or wrong, it'll do it.

LLMs reverse this paradigm; i'd call them "dumb in a smart way," making assumptions to get an answer.
