I went to a dental school once to get a wisdom pulled. The students couldn’t get it out. Enter their 80-year-old teacher, who rolls up his damn sleeve and pulls so hard I thought my skull was going to pop out of my mouth. Instead, the tooth emerges and the students, as if on cue, go, “OOOOOOH.”

Too much of the plot revolves around multiple characters not knowing what another character looks like. They could Mando him, maybe, but it wouldn’t hit right.

The set design and casting were astounding.

But Dune remains unfilmable, as its best moments happen in the character’s heads, and there’s just no way to do it well, any more than you could film Steakley’s Armor.

Anyone who is using AI to screen essays should be fired. There’s no room for debate here. If you think so little of students that you won’t even READ their writing…
