The media's really just going to bounce over the fact that at Trump's meeting today they said "we've been fighting antifa for a hundred years, since they tried to stop us in 1930s Germany" and everyone nodded along, huh

#Fakemon - Divergent evolution of Magnemite.

I learned a lot designing and executing this guy, I'm hoping I can do some more Fakemon with a fancy graphic like this in the future!

A great thread everyone should read. We need collective action now. If you can leave, great, then pay it forward and help those who stay. If you stay then get ready, build community, show solidarity, be there for one another. The times may be dark but we can be each others light. Never give up.

Vast, vast majority of trans people aren't going to leave the country. Many can't leave the areas they're currently in.

If trans survival/liberation are something one cares about, at all, that's the reality.

So...🧵

(And no, this is not — in the main — about indviduals leaving the country).

If you're now in a place with a less hostile government? Grand. Networks across borders are also needed. Send support to those staying and fighting here. Don't loudly dismiss those struggles.

Already sending support? Great. See about organizing and coordinating to expand those efforts...

I am an extremely socially anxious person and have trouble breaking the ice but I've been spending the last few weeks massively trying to build more community both online and in person. I know it can be hard for my fellow socially anxious peeps, but take the advice, we need to do it.
davidforbes.bsky.social
So, that means on a collective level the best odds, by far, are communities and groups figuring out what stay and fight looks like for them, and then coordinating and helping others (especially if they're in a safer spot, for the time being). It means actual resources being poured into that...

The right-wing for decades has been outright calling for violence, murder, and destruction of anyone to the left of Ronald Reagan and the Democrats are just now starting to think "huh, these guys might be serious."

No fucking shit they are serious. Can you all start living in reality already?

Schiff: "You begin to wonder -- do they believe they have the authority by putting some groups on a list, even domestic groups, to use lethal force against them, with no trial, no due process, no nothing? The reality is we can't rule that out."

I hate so much to go crawling back to fucking Elon Musk, I've resisted it for so long and still don't know if I can do it, but damn if it doesn't seem to be a possible viable path forward at this point.

Bluesky team really letting everyone down by trying to be worse than the nazi bar.

As @brooklynmarie.bsky.social often says.

Borders aren't just for keeping people out.

They can also be used to trap people within.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

I'm normally against the idea of state secession because I don't want to leave others outside of the states that leave to their fates but if we are going to be invaded by the federal government it's time to bounce and figure out a way to help others flee over the new border.
theorygirl-ftw.bsky.social
This feels like a reverse secession. Like... some kind of invasion? Hmm is there a term for that? Some kind of intentional conflict between members of the same country / state? Where the citizens of a given place fight... a civil war if you will...?
juliedicaro.bsky.social
This is getting wild.

The states of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and 14 others have just asked for permission to file THEIR amicus brief in IL v. Trump.

The States of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina and 14 additional States

States and the federal government, and deploying the National Guard. We also each have a vital
interest in supporting the President and Congress in enacting and enforcing valid immigration

The federalization of States’ National Guard units is a matter of profound public
importance, as it directly implicates the delicate balance of power between state and federal
governments—a true cornerstone of Federalism. States generally maintain authority over their
National Guard units, allowing governors to deploy them for state-specific needs, such as disaster
response or public safety. Federalization of state National Guard units without gubernatorial

I'm never going to make a deadline again, I turn off my phone for 5 hours to try to get work done and turns out all the worst people in the world had an Antifa Press Conference where they are openly broadcasting their intent to murder and imprison dissidents

Do I have that about right?

I wouldn't be on the main server but on one of the ones for allies if I had switched over but I had them on my radar in case things got beyond bad here with the Bsky team.

Honestly, Northsky worries me as well as I think it will be dominated by the mean girls clique when it gets running.
theorygirl-ftw.bsky.social
Dang this sucks to hear as I was really hoping that Blacksky would be the start of a viable alternative. I don't want to be a doomer but at this point it seems like the whole Bluesky/ATProto concept might be cooked.

I have never followed an account who I didn't LIKE looking at the content of, why do I want to look at shit I don't like? I can easily see Heritage and Conservative shit whenever I want to without following them.

If you are a journalist and need to follow, use an alt and keep that shit separate.

The "follow" button confounds "I'm looking at your content" and "I endorse this content." We need two different ways to signal the difference between the two.
