Where are they when you need them? Major-General Robert Ross captured Washington and set fire to the White House in the War of 1812. Buried in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are going to dig up his grave to try to get some DNA and then clone him - or find an descendant.

We can't wait four years for the US to self correct. I suspect there will not be fair and free elections in 2026 and 2028.

What I am reading now. Revisiting John Rawls with great interest after many, many years. What do we want? JUSTICE! When do we want it? NOW! Or sometime in the not-too-distant future.

Nova Scotia election called early to take advantage of conditions favourable for the current government and it produced the desired results - and then some! Fortunately our conservatives are middle-of-the-road still calling themselves "Progressive Conservatives".

I am not THAT JD Vance - my grandparents where the pillars of a small farming community - no cussing, liquor, cigarettes or cards on Sunday! And they were Liberals. I'd like to ignore US politics but "when the US sneezes Canada catches a cold." I'm beginning to fear JD more than the other guy.
