But inside is a storm, raging incessantly with nowhere to go at the moment but further inward. Each strike of lightning brings another nerve pulse from the misaligned jaw. Each boom of thunder is another bout of tinnitus. Each earth shake, a hemiplegic migraine flare-up where balance doesn't exist.

And now they're dead. I only learned secondhand that my father died. I was left out of his obituary. I was written out of all wills and, to my knowledge, erased from the family.
I shouldnt care. I know I'm relatively well adjusted and am (outwardly) dealing with this gracefully.

They had a habit of showing up on my doorstep unannounced after my mother died. When I first had kidney stones, I told them in no uncertain terms that the only visitor I wanted was my spouse. They showed up, laughed, and said 'it doesnt matter what you want' when I got angry.

If you hadnt attempted to use them as a simulacrum to live the childhood you didnt have. If you hadnt body shamed them at every turn, mismanaged their health, made them question *everything* that they ever did.
Maybe I could have mended things with remaining family, except theres that pesky safety.

Fuck narcissistic parents. Fuck abusive parents. Your one job is to at least TRY to provide your child with a sense of safety, with you at the VERY least. Your job is not to try and keep up with your affluent family, go 'look at all the things we buy our spoiled brat!', and treat *them* like shit.

It amazes me that when Clive Barker makes Hellraiser it is lauded as kino horror, but we won't even consider applying the se kind of thought to anything out of Japan because it's anime. :|

They could have risen like a phoenix from the ashes with that performance of Champion of Light their rebirthing flame, but no. We have to take the award ceremony that brought Poets of the Fall stateside for the first time ever and continue to run it, and the field it represents, into the ground. 🙃

If they ever go after a fucking school or daycare for painting comforting Disney characters on their walls for children ever again...I've already pretty far disavowed them (no hate towards Disney lovers), but this is just making me want it to burn.
