As we near the shortest day of the year, we remember why Baltimore is a City of Illumination. In this building, gaslight once extended the day itself—proof that even in darkness, Baltimore has always known how to make its own light.

The Peale’s Accomplished Arts Apprenticeship (AAA) program gave young adults from the Baltimore community hands-on training in exhibition installation, art handling, and historic preservation trades.

Originally completed in 1930, the garden was revived after decades of overgrowth during the "Birdland and the Anthropocene" exhibit by Lynne Parks. Now a vibrant downtown oasis, it's open for community programs and event rentals!
