Is there a good list of University of Alabama players I can refer to? Will look through my collection.

Pick up to 3.

U.S. only please.

Sometimes, they do. Griffin Canning was a good example before he was unfortunately injured. Pitching depth is what we need with some solid starters, a top front end guy, and a reliable bullpen. Teams in the playoffs were staffed to the brim with pitching.

He had a solid comeback season in 2024. One of the reasons we made the playoffs. He just ran out gas along with Severino

There's no way to predict an injury in Winker's case. Montas was already damaged, goods when Stearns gave him the contact he gave him.

I'm still on the fence about Menaea. He was injured this year and shouldn't be expected to be carrying or pitching staff. He's a #3 starter at best. Clay Holmes on the other hand. 😧

I know Stearns is sitting at home right now smiling at the thought of JJ Bleday playing centerfield for the Mets next year. 😏

As long as they continue the discount Hot Dog days.

I’m just starting to learn about the intricacies of how injuries affect player contracts. It's peaking my interest. My guess is that contracts like the ones Soto and Lindor signed would include some kind of career-ending injury clause.

You are correct about Wright's contract which was negotiated. The Mets are on the hook for Montas. It's guaranteed. Things would look different if he retired.

Reminds me when Marcus Stroman opted in and decided to not play during the entire COVID season. That was by his choice though.

His contract is considered "buried". I did some digging and this means that he's being paid a full salary while not on the roster, rehabbing, or playing in the minors. Not sure if this means his contract doesn't count against the CBT or what. 🤷‍♂️

Beautiful photo!

Good question. I think Benge is our future centerfielder, though. He needs more time in AAA. It'll be exciting to watch them this spring.

🤣

He's going to be invited to spring training. I don't see him making the team, though.

You're absolutely right. I'm really losing my patience with him. It's like dumpster diving for used furniture.

Nick Morabito will be replacing Montas on the 40-man roster, which he earned by batting .362 is the Arizona Fall League this year. He can play center, and has been a high batting average hitter for most of his minor league career. #Mets
