My favorite thing about Midsummer Night's Dream is now seeing how the different productions handle "The Most Lamentable Comedy and Most Cruel Death of Pyramus and Thisbe".

Some incredible interpretations out there.

Need to get better at opening the Kindle app over social media apps. Tried uninstalling them, but I've ended up using my browser as a proxy instead.

23 books read this year – which I'm pretty happy with considering I was at 6 in September, though admittedly some were quite short.

This year's favorite was The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin.

Today marks six years since my father's unexpected passing.

It's a strange number to consider, given how fresh the grief can still feel. I think about him every day, and suspect I will for a long time to come.

Time doesn't heal all wounds, but it does make some scars easier to bear.

The nice part about revision: I get to tighten my prose, improve flow, sharpen my arcs, and elevate what came before.

The unfortunate part: the writer responsible for the last draft appears to have written it in momentum-fueled delirium and left everything on fire.

Going to need another coffee.

I love food - some days it's hard working on being in a calorie deficit, but I'm generally good at keeping it balanced.

But come the holidays, I don't even care. Consistency over time is what matters and a couple of days of indulgence is irrelevant in the long term.

Julie Taymor's 2014 production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is one of the highlights of the Shakespeare rabbit hole I'm finding myself in.

So working on my third novel is reinforcing that I love outlining when I'm done with it and my trajectory is clear, but that I absolutely hate being stuck trying to untangle the mess that is my brain and wrestle it into coherent thoughts on the page.

Can't wait to get drafting.

This week is a revision week. I hate this chapter. But I also love this chapter. Third draft really feels like pulling teeth sometimes - my manuscript existing in a state flowing between trash and potential. The bones are good, the writer is learning.

I love the stage of outlining where story, world, and characters all seem to converge perfectly; and your test scenes are naturally evolving into real chapters.

FFX is great too so far. I feel this one will rank high once I'm through.

Final Fantasy IX is on its way to becoming my favorite so far, but if it can knock IV off its throne remains to be seen. Really enjoying the series playthrough overall.

Revising in Scrivener is a dream compared to Word.
And I might enjoy revision more drafting?
