One option colleagues of mine mentioned was to put your requirements for an essay in AI, give the students the result and then make them explain what AI got wrong. Perhaps AI can't deal with that, maybe it can find a way

These divisions have an extra layer in the part that many of today's leaders were fans of Putin a few years ago, before he did what observant people knew he was going to do.
It's especially the concept of a 'pure and proud nation and people' that is music to some leaders' ears.

Their progress is slower than the western front during WW2. The fact they're going so slow is an emberrassment for them. The fact that Ukraine is still suffering shortages in firepower is an indictment on the West's divisions.

Suppose they succeed and push the trans community out of US society (a thought I don't want to think about, and a situation that should be prevented at all costs), then they'll find a new target. They'll again try to attack gay people and push them out of US society.

Transgender people are an easy target. Fascism starts with the easiest target, always by playing on people's feelings. Aversion and hate have been created against transgender people for very long, and has increased when spreading hate against gay people wasn't getting enough traction.

The problem is that there is little chance in *changing* the way things are going in US politics, unless this portion Democrat senators and representatives stop working with Republicans.
