I just finished watching Ikiru (1952) which I thouroughly enjoyed. It contains somewhat similar themes with Soul (2020) which members of my family lambasted for being dreary, being unable to recognize the central message; one should aspire to live a life of mindfulness.

After having recently watched both films, I do not understand why a coworker of mine said that Casablanca (1942) is the "original Psycho (1960)" other than that they're both from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema and Casablanca came before Psycho??
