I tend to take my time with writing my first drafts. When I go back to revise, I'm just cleaning up punctuation and typos, not altering characters or plots.

I'm very fond of my first drafts.

Thus proving the superiority of Bluesky over X.

Better follow up question: "So your philosophy of government is 'might makes right?'"

Question: What can the general populace do to make up for the loss of the CPB?

I'll be playing in February, but I don't think there is any bad month for LARPing.

North of the Border is great, but I don't know how kid-friendly their projects are. They're still great fun to watch.

Have you looked at Nerdforge? They are a Norwegian couple who do very ambitious crafting projects but explain each step. Colorful and energetic; highly recommended.

That sounds like a perfect Christmas. Foster that #TTRPG love.

Die Hard is about surviving a siege far longer and more successfully than anyone expected.

Die Hard is a Hanukkah movie!

Mary Sue types work best as villains because we flawed humans instinctively detest them. Doom's greatest flaw is his rampant pride; he is so certain of his superiority that no one actually trusts him.

I might be that player.
I seem to have a tendency to play PCs who are fleeing from an unpleasant past or who are trying to redeem themselves for evils that they now regret.

I remember an SNL skit very similar to that. It just extends the film's runtime for about 2 minutes, but boy would those 2 minutes be cathartic!

But I quite like Don't Look Up. That's a Christmas movie, isn't it?

I think the GM-friendly answer is that she divorced her because she became an adventurer. Since the ex isn't one, she merely hires mercenaries to harass her in an effort to get her to quit adventuring and come back home.

This idea could be the core of a Kids on Bikes adventure. I'd play it.

Overturning the appeals court (re: TX redistricting) without explanation seems horrifying.

I love Philosophy Tube even more on Nebula! No annoying ads that interrupt the flow of the essay.

For games I've already run for players who are mostly used to D&D only:

1. GURPS for flexibility and crunch.
2. FATE for customizability and narrative focus.
3. Call of Cthulhu for cosmic horror that Ravenloft can't match.
4. Masks for PbtA storytelling in a superhero setting.
