Let's close this thread with two IPs that are major Halloween icons: the Monster Cereals & Scooby Doo. From like the final years when Count Chocula, Frankenberry, & Boo Berry were cereal you'd find all year round instead of a seasonal release. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea4f...

McDonald's always had fun Halloween ads. One year, they did basically a two-parter involving Ronald needing to find a costume. I like the detail they hide the Happy Meal toy (the McDonaldland gang in their Halloween costumes) not revealing the twist. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ-V...

Hey, does anyone remember Coca-Cola's Monsters of The Gridiron? Those trading cards of NFL players wearing costumes meant to depict them as monsters? Just me? Always me.

Let's watch some random Halloween commercials tonight. Back in the day, I always loved "The Pizza Head Show" ads from Pizza Hut, didn't know they were basically Mr. Bill with pizza. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK7d...

So, are we talking about here in terms of hero? Dr. Loomis in being the only one who actually knows what’s going on & lives through the movie, maybe sacrificing my life, or Ash Williams where I directly fight the monster?

Wait, if the witch was just a costume, how did those spells happen? Is it too much for as for logic in my silent black & white cartoon where a cat could switch the head of a rooster & rabbit without issue?

And this is why you don't leave the key to your broom in the ignition.

Yeah, sure Felix, enter the spooky house alone on Halloween. Surely nothing bad will happen. Oh, look, a witch. I guess we finally got the title.

Huh, kinda surreal to see live action playing cards in an old timey cartoon like this. It was probably easier to do this than drawing 52 individual cards. But still, this feels more post-modern & this was made in 1927.

He is not immune as this random dog detaches Felix's bottom half & put it on a wheelbarrow. And Felix's said bottom half has a mind of his own. It's like everyone here has Trafalgar Law's Devil Fruit power.
therealdoneast.bsky.social
By the way, almost the entirety of this short can be summed up as "Felix switching parts of random animals & objects, it's kinda spooky".

Here's an oldie, an Otto Messmer Felix the Cat short where this black cat gets into some Halloween tricks. This being a 1930s cartoon, it can get pretty out there...

Then the story ends with a standard Spider-Man ending for the time, Mary Jane complaining about how Peter keeps ditching her & missing all the action. You know, a few years after this it was revealed that MJ knew Peter was Spider-Man for a while. Can't imagine how she came to that conclusion?
therealdoneast.bsky.social
Then Gobby just gets away, like this just sort of happened. Spidey, where were you on that one? Or did you missed the part where that's your problem?
therealdoneast.bsky.social
After sneaking away, Peter puts on his real mask & as Spider-Man, catches Gobby in the act. Then he catches Gobby's glider with his webbing. And yes, you did read that, "Greenie is the meanie" indeed. This is so goofy.
therealdoneast.bsky.social
The missing treats & the low energy ruining the party was both done by design by... The Green Goblin. Yes, really. In case you're wondering, it's Harry Osborn under the Goblin mask. Dang, Harry, this revenge on Spider-Man is petty, even for you.
therealdoneast.bsky.social
The party the two are going to hosted by a guy named Jimmy, who apparently is a friend of both Parker & the Electric Company cast. And it, like MJ says, is kind of a drag. Everyone seems tired, & Fargo North, Decoder tells Peter that somebody's been stealing all the snacks.
therealdoneast.bsky.social
Also, gotta love how Peter's costume is his Spider-Man suit but with a Lone Ranger mask. I don't know if that's a cheap costume in-universe or Parker is making a joke only he'd get.
